Is there maybe an automatic installer like Fantastico for Joomla?
Chosen Answer:
you can use the Joomla with your Yahoo! Web Hosting plan.
You can install Joomla in your account directly from the Joomla’s web site. Download the compressed file from Downloads section of the Joomla’s web site:
http://www.joomlatribune.com/joomla-tutorials/how-to-install-joomla-cms.html
After downloading the new version of Joomla you will need to uncompress the downloaded file on your computer using a software like WinZip. After uncompressing the file you can rename the folder accordingly and can upload the folder to your account using a FTP client. Upload all the files of Joomla in a separate subdirectory under your File Manager.
For creating a subdirectory under your File Manager, I have searched a link. Visit:
http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/webhosting/gfiles/gfiles-06.html
While uploading the files “.htaccess” file and few files with special characters in the filename will not get uploaded. You can ignore these files. Yahoo! doesn’t support .htaccess files.
For information on where to obtain a free FTP program, visit:
http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/webhosting/gftp/gftp-08.html
Once you have downloaded and installed an FTP program, please review the instructions at:
http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/webhosting/gftp/gftp-09.html
You will need the following information:
* Address/Host Name: ftp.domain-name.com
* User Name: Yahoo! ID@domain-name.com
* Password: yourYahoo!IDpassword
After uploading the files you will need to configure the newly uploaded Joomla (CMS). Before you can configure Joomla you will need to create a new database using phpMyAdmin. After creating the new database you can use the new database name to configure Joomla. The hostname to be used to configure is “mysql” and the Administrator Email adderss should be one of the domain email address with a mailbox.
for creating MySQL database, please visit:
http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/webhosting/mysql/index.html
The minimum system requirement for the Joomla:
http://help.joomla.org/content/view/34/169/
I hope it will be best answer, I was doing research on this for last one day and finally i got it.
