How to transfer joomla site from local to host?

I need step by step process.
Are all hosting sites Joomla compatible? How can you tell if they don’t and do?

Use Akeeba Backup extension to back up your site locally and then restore it on hosting. This will take care of your files, database, and directory re-mapping.
